The best part of a table is everything that happens around it.
During Barcelona Design Week 2026, our showroom at Casa Thomas hosted La Sobremesa · Designing Camaraderie, a project that brought product design, food and art together around a single table.
Some gatherings go far beyond sharing a meal, and this was one of them. Now that the table has been cleared, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who made it possible.
A table where design came to life
La Sobremesa started from a simple idea: that design should stop being something you look at and become something you touch, use and share. Over the dinners, pieces by the participating designers were served from, passed from hand to hand and became part of every conversation.
When the meal was over, the table was left exactly as it was. With its traces, its half-finished glasses and everything that could be sensed around it, it became the exhibition itself.
“The anti-gallery of design: here, the pieces are used”, as its creator, Isabel Francoy, describes it.
Thank you to everyone who made it possible
La Sobremesa is a collective project, and the result belongs to many hands and many disciplines working together.
Isabel Francoy Studio
Thank you to Isabel Francoy for conceiving and producing La Sobremesa, and for trusting us to host this edition at Casa Thomas. Her way of understanding design as something to live with and use, Daily Functional Art, was where it all began.
The food
To Sergi Freixes for the food design, Sebas Carnoleg for the cooking, and Raúl Bernal and By La Paca for the pastries. Thank you for making every dish part of the experience and for giving the pieces a reason to be on the table.
Ondarreta and Born Rosé
To Ondarreta, main sponsor, and Born Rosé, sponsor, for their support and for believing in a format that brings design closer to people in a different way.
Designers and artists
To all the designers and artists who put their pieces on the table and let them be used, handled and shared. Without them, there would have been no sobremesa.
Javi Dardo and Interior Contraportada
To Javi Dardo for the images that let us sit at that table once more, and to Interior Contraportada, our official press partner, for telling the story.
And to everyone who sat at the table
Thank you for your curiosity, for letting yourselves be surprised and for making this experience your own. In the end, it was the people and everything that happened around the table that made La Sobremesa truly special.
Cubiñá: a place to come together
At Cubiñá, we work alongside architects, interior designers and clients to create spaces designed for people and for everything that happens in them. Opening Casa Thomas, the modernist building by Lluís Domènech i Montaner that houses our showroom, to an initiative like this is another way of doing just that.
This time, what happened was a sobremesa: full of design, creativity and good moments.

Thank you for making it possible. See you around the table.
